India Post Recruitment 2026 for 20000 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Posts

India Post has officially released a massive recruitment drive for the year 2026, inviting applications for 20000 vacancies of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) across various circles including West Bengal. The posts include Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak. This opportunity is open to 10th pass candidates with mandatory knowledge of Mathematics, English, and the local language of the region applied for. The GDS roles are rural-based and contractual, offering TRCA-based emoluments, social security benefits, and a work schedule of 4–5 hours a day. Applications must be submitted online via the official portal between 31 January and 14 February 2026. The selection will be purely merit-based on 10th standard marks.

5. Complete the online application by entering marks, board details, division preferences, and uploading a recent photo and signature.
6. Pay the application fee online (if applicable).
7. Verify all details and submit the application.
8. Download and save the confirmation for future reference.
9. Edit window for corrections will be open from 18 to 19 February 2026.
